About the event
We are excited to welcome Garron Reynolds to hear about his Frikana farm in South Africa and to help him receive expertise on biochar, regenerative farming and carbon credits. Garron is business-man, who was originally qualified as a New York Certified Public Accountant. He worked and lived in the USA for 16 years as a student and professional. After working for the Price Waterhouse/Bristol Myers Squibb/EMI Music, he immigrated back to South Africa and built a business that I sold in 2015. To date, he has been a shareholder and a Chairman on a smaller business that is an allied industry to his original business. He has decided that he would like to change my focus now to regenerative farming and learning about soil.
Frikana farm currently farms 7 hectares of Lucerne. The yields are dropping significantly and they need to rotate a new crop on the land. There is also a forest along the river on the land and they would like to remove the alien vegetation, to restore the original river botanicals. For this, they would have to mass burn the foliage, therefore, they are looking into a biochar plant.
Their needs:
Expertise on biochar. Understanding of carbon credits. Modern farming ideas. Ideas for the next crop. Expertise on how to integrate cattle on the land.
