About the event

Kimon Roussopoulos: Kimon is an experienced multidisciplinary engineer specialising in developing new technologies and products, with an exceptional analytical and intuitive understanding of physical systems. He has advised VCs on technology investments. In the sustainability field he has worked on smart metering and grid demand switching management, as well as emission reduction. He works with the Carbon Thirteen venture accelerator as a Domain Expert, concentrating on the actual carbon savings likely to be realised by innovations.  Kimon will start from first principles of what are greenhouse gases and what has man changed in the last century.  He will present the general approaches to reducing climate change and how realistic the current debate, and commercial and political approaches, are.  "Sadly the climate only understands physics, not good intentions: earnestly doing the wrong thing doesn't help future generations."

Samia Kazi - Samia is the founder of Climate Mitigate a one year old start up that uses blockchain technology to combat climate crisis and accelerate the process to net zero and sustainable development goals. Climate Mitigate offers an integrated marketplace for decarbonising - carbon accounting, offsetting carbon emissions and investing in carbon capturing innovative technologies.

You can meet both presenters on the KlimateNet App if you have joined the communities they belong to.
