About the event

We are very pleased to welcome KlimateNet member Dr. Wilson Hago, CEO of Hago Energetics, to hear about their carbon removal project in Camarillo, California (USA).

Hago Energetics’ mission is to contribute to reversing global warming via converting waste materials to clean hydrogen through the implementation of carbon negative and carbon dioxide removal technologies. They are focused on green hydrogen production in order to decarbonize traditional hydrogen production.

Their pilot, which converted cow manure to fuel cell grade hydrogen, is finished and they are now working on scaling up their technology to produce several tons of hydrogen per day.

By breaking down organic matter such as food scraps and animal waste from farms and converting it to high-value products such as hydrogen, they utilise a more sustainable methane source to produce hydrogen gas, whilst directly reducing Co2 emissions.

Hago Energetics was also among the 28 selected for their clean energy innovation by the CalSEED awards, where $4.2 million in grants were awarded. Watch this video for more information on their work.

“We need to urgently incorporate negative emissions technologies into our world. We are presently working on developing green hydrogen, carbon capture and utilization technologies.” – Wilson Hago

Their Need: Funding, Expert Knowledge, Collaboration

Their Offer: Gas to liquids chemical expertise along with chemical engineering knowledge of simulations as well as processes
